{Style Lab} Tie Dye Denim

I’d like to start this morning off with a fresh new denim essential for Spring + Summer! J Brand just launched their Tie Dye Denim at Aritzia! Available colors come in; Twisted Plum, Twisted Tiger + Twisted Coral. Seriously, how fun are these?! The ultimate in statement denim, the Tie Dye is the perfect way to complete a stylish summer look that’s great for dressing up or down!

{Style Lab} The Trench

They say April showers bring May flowers…if that’s the case then I can’t complain! Gives me reason to wear a perfectly classy trench coat! With the weather at a stand-still – the ice has thawed but the rain is still drizzling – a great trench is the perfect complement to your favorite denim + colorful pump!

I dug out my beloved white + black Zara trenches from last season – who says you have to spend a bundle! Fashion is recyclable after all!!

{Style Lab} Pretty Pretty Pleats!

With the vintage look taking over the fashion scene, we have been re-introduced to the revival of the pleated skirt! Spring is the perfect time to experiment wearing pleats – whether you choose the midi, the mini or the maxi, pleated skirts add a touch of elegance to your look with subtle small pleats + simple A silhouette. The great thing about this gorgeous piece is that they are available at a host of different retailers without the hefty price tag to match! So head out + hunt down your very own to add to your wardrobe! Happy Shopping!!

{Style Lab} 360 Perfection

Vintage-inspired round sunnies are all the rage! …and my new favorite accesory!A trend we’ve been noticing that  has slowly been growing over the last couple of seasons, is now one of the hottest this Summer for sophisticated style to complete any vintage or current look. Designers everywhere are jumping in with both feet for eye-popping fashion, creating all shapes, sizes, colors + prices that fit all of our fashion-wants & budget-needs!

Pucker Up!

When faced with a tough week ahead, there’s nothing like a bright, fresh new lipstick to send a girl in the right direction! Adding the perfect pout to your pucker gives your look a sense of confidence + distinction. This Spring we are ever-so-lucky to have what seems, unlimited choices – whether your going for a candy pink, tangerine orange or poppy red, these vibrant hues are perfect for daytime wear through t’ill night!

Color Blocking

Did you hear…we’re expected to have a gloomy next 2 weeks. To get over a rain-filled weather forecast I decided to dedicate this post to the sunny world of Color Blocking. What better way to get into Spring + Summer-mode then to daydream about all the possible (limitless) combinations that you can create using your favorite vibrant colors!

Color-blocking has been around for a few seasons, but according to the runways, it’s a trend that we’ll be seeing through t’ill next Spring!

1. Colorblock Chartreuse Bodycon Dress $35
2. Van Der Staeten Triangle Drop Earrings $615
3. Au Contraire Kate Spade Hinge Bangle $148
4. Anya Hindmarch Gold Valorie Clutch $555
5. Zadig & Voltaire By Gaia Repossi Gold-Plated Cuff $1,680
6. Giuseppe Zanotti Exclusive Colorblock Sandals $1,140

{Style Lab} Neon Alert!

On the runway, in our weeklies + in our fave tv shows, it’s impossible to steer clear of the NEON craze! If there’s one thing that you will not be able to avoid this season, it’s bright pops of color in all shades of the Neon rainbow. To me, Neon screams summer and I have to say that I’m loving it! Here are a couple of my favorite new obsessions:

1. Expo Bullet-Tip Dry Erase Markers in Neon $9.99
2. Marc by Marc Neon Skinny Belts
3. Neon Colorblock Collar by Bauble Bar $62
4. Clare Vivier Neon Clutches $104
5. Neon Tile Bangle
6. Fluoro Eivissa Cuff $306
7. True Religion Neon Pink Jeans $310
8. Aldo Calcagni Wedges $100 (Suede)

{Style Lab} Arm Party!

For those of you who may have been living under a rock somewhere..

This is easily one of my favorite trends for Spring! I love stacking my favorite bracelets with a chunky oversized watch! It just adds so much personality to your outfit as well as that finishing touch. What we remember as the  classic childhood ‘friendship bracelet’ has now evolved into one of this seasons hottest trends, found on the wrists of celebs + girls’ next door alike! What’s best is you can mix + match more expensive pieces like watches with inexpensive but chic bracelets without compromising the look – Don’t stop the party, keep stacking!!

Fashionable Tips

I have to say, there’s nothing better than a set of freshly painted nails! Changing up your polish gives a complete, finished look to your outfit. I regularly change my polish at least 3-4 times per week (ok, i’m a bit obsessed) depending on my mood and the pieces that I’ve selected to wear. Attention to detail is key when staying on trend! To avoid damaged nail-beds when applying back-to-back coats, I use OPI Nail Envy – works like magic!

Step 1

Prep nails by trimming, filing + shaping your tips prior to applying any lacquer

Step 2

Once you’ve got your desired shape, apply OPI Nail Envy {or any ‘bottom coat’} to protect your nails from constant coverage

Step 3

Apply color! This is the fun part – this season calls for pretty pastels + bright colorful hues

Step 4

Gel-lacquer is now available at most nail bars or available for purchase at nail + beauty supplies stores {alternative: use ‘Top Coat’}

Most importantly, have fun + be expertimental! {Remember} Your style is always evolving, so don’t be afraid of change or being BOLD
