{Style Lab} Arm Party!

For those of you who may have been living under a rock somewhere..

This is easily one of my favorite trends for Spring! I love stacking my favorite bracelets with a chunky oversized watch! It just adds so much personality to your outfit as well as that finishing touch. What we remember as the  classic childhood ‘friendship bracelet’ has now evolved into one of this seasons hottest trends, found on the wrists of celebs + girls’ next door alike! What’s best is you can mix + match more expensive pieces like watches with inexpensive but chic bracelets without compromising the look – Don’t stop the party, keep stacking!!

Lot of love,

Sydney xo

Rise + Shine

Even though I’m not the epitome of a ‘morning person’, I still love the idea of early mornings. The start of a fresh day, the smell of the wet grass and the way the sunlight looks especially angelic at this time of day. Smells of strong morning coffee + freshly made pancakes, waffles or baked goods. There are so many elements that I adore about mornings…if only I could leave my cozy bed!

Foodie on-the-go

I’m always on-the-go like many of you! Sometimes I find that I’m not getting enough of ‘the good stuff’, but rather pinching out on something quick + easy that ends up to be less than satisfying. On my obsession that is Pinterest, I came across some AMAZING snack ideas that hopefully you will love as much as I do! I’m putting these delicious creations to the test this week! Enjoy!

Add Color

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend + got a chance to relax a little bit! It’s monday and it’s back to the grind! For today’s post, I wanted to focus on the home, by adding a pop of color to various elements of your space. Spring is well on it’s way, so now’s the perfect time to do some redecorating – whether it be to purchase a new piece for your living room, re-paint or add textured wallpaper to an accent wall, or to exchange what you currently have in your frames with new colorful prints. Big or small, continuous change is essential to evolving our style, in fashion + at home so let’s go!!

I LOVE this unique colored doorknob! So chic

Having an accent wall in a room you frequently entertain in is a great way to create a stylish fun space!

Loved the idea of having a feature wall of framed shopping bags!

My Top 5 Best Dressed {Oscars Edition}

My favorite part about watching all the amazing shows during award season, is tuning in the catch Hollywood’s finest walk the red carpet! There were so many breathtaking gowns {not to mention jewels} this year at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. I’ve narrowed down my Top 5 picks for Best Dressed to share with you!

Mila Jovovich was the essence of old Hollywood Glam in a sequin Elie Saab couture asymmetric gown, Jacob & Co. gems + Edie Parker Clutch

Gwyneth Paltrow wowed in a White Tom Ford gown + dramatic (but entirely necessary?) floor length cape, Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie diamond cuff, ring + sleek low ponytail

Angelina Jolie shut down the Oscars {her + her right leg} in a black velvet Atelier Versace gown, Neil Lane jewels + a Jaime Mascaro bag

Winner Octavia Spencer stunned the red carpet in an elegant, creamy, crystal-embellished Tadashi Shoji gown, accessorized with Neil Lane jewels + a silver Judith Leiber clutch

Stacey Keibler channeled her inner Oscar wearing a champagne-hued, off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown, paired with a Judith Leiber clutch + Lorraine Schwartz jewels

Fashionable Tips

I have to say, there’s nothing better than a set of freshly painted nails! Changing up your polish gives a complete, finished look to your outfit. I regularly change my polish at least 3-4 times per week (ok, i’m a bit obsessed) depending on my mood and the pieces that I’ve selected to wear. Attention to detail is key when staying on trend! To avoid damaged nail-beds when applying back-to-back coats, I use OPI Nail Envy – works like magic!

Step 1

Prep nails by trimming, filing + shaping your tips prior to applying any lacquer

Step 2

Once you’ve got your desired shape, apply OPI Nail Envy {or any ‘bottom coat’} to protect your nails from constant coverage

Step 3

Apply color! This is the fun part – this season calls for pretty pastels + bright colorful hues

Step 4

Gel-lacquer is now available at most nail bars or available for purchase at nail + beauty supplies stores {alternative: use ‘Top Coat’}

Most importantly, have fun + be expertimental! {Remember} Your style is always evolving, so don’t be afraid of change or being BOLD

Oscar Party

With the Oscars only a short few days away, it’s time to start planning your perfect Oscar viewing party! If you’ve read some of my previous posts, you’ll know by now that I love to plan a good party!

Create fun decor + Oscar-inspired focal points to have set up in your ‘viewing room’. Fill large glass containers with gold colored candies or saved wine corks. Create custom invites on evite.com or socializr.com to track RSVP’s, save paper + spread the word!

It’s the Oscars afterall, so break out the sparkling cava, brut, prosecco or champagne. Add frozen raspberries or straberry slices to give your beverages an esay cocktail-style upgrade

Chanel a luxe, elegant vibe + sophisticated ambiance with the same basics you’d use for any party

Serve fresh popcorn in custom bags + have a seasoning bar set up for your guests to choose any flavor of their preferred choice!

Must-haves: fresh cut flowers, real china (not paper plates!), stemware + napkins

Once the show is over, make your guests feel like VIPs with an end-of-the-night swag bag filled with inexpensive but fun freebies like packs of candy, lollipops, bubble wands, notepads etc.
