If you’ve been following along from home, you may have caught Burberry’s Prorsum Spring/Summer 2014 Presentation at London Fashion Week – and I must say, they’ve stolen my heart this season! Hearts, animal prints + classic stripes stole the show at Monday’s Burberry runway lineup – everything from the perfect pencils skirt to chic office staples to my favorite Burberry trench. I was having a hard time deciding which were my favorite pieces!! Everything in this collection is pretty, sophisticated + functional – a well-rounded assortment for the modern-day working girl! Well done Burberry, you nailed it once again!
Well, this is the first September in a long long long time that I am NOT heading back to school. And i have to say…i’m kind of loving it! Except, my favorite part – back to school supplies. I wish there were as many stylish + colorful products on the market in grade school as there is now! How could one not be excited to get back to the grind when accessorizing your workspace with fun stationary + supplies that gets you motivated to give it your all. Some of my current favorites:
When it comes to my skin, I simply cannot skimp out! ..and when it comes to my daily skincare routine, SkinCeuticals is at the top of my list. All their products are focused around three fundamental elements: Prevention, Protection, and Correction.
Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a fairly common skin discoloration disorder called Malasma – and while I am very lucky my case is minor in comparison to many others, I have to be extra cautious with sun exposure + take those extra steps to help maintain the healty state of my skin.
I would highly recommend making SkinCeuticals apart of your everyday routine! (No, I was not paid to say that) I’m just that passionate about this wonderful company. I’ve shared some of my favorite products below:
This week I turned 27 – how fast this year has flown!? While 26 was full of many struggles + home stretches it was also probably one of the most rewarding and bitter-sweet years of my life. I finally completed my Business Degree in Marketing + shortly after landed my dream 9-5 at a prominent Advertising Agency in the city. If that wasn’t enough, the love of my whole life + I are on the move to purchasing a home together. At last. The stars have aligned + I’m convinced that the universe is working in my favour.
Also this past weekend, my beautiful cousin got married to her soul mate. She held a gorgeous reception at my grandfather’s house complete with twinkle lights, a DIY Ceaser bar, complementary flip-flops & an ‘everything you might possibly need tonight’ station; from bottles of advil, hand sanitizer, gum to band aids and blankets to bug repellent. It. Was. Awesome.
The big day took place the night before my birthday + definitely had me reflecting on all I’ve accomplished this past year + the moves I want to make in this next blessed year.
If I’ve learned anything it’s to never stop dreaming and that there is possibility in everything!
1. Personalized Initialed Outdoor Bar
2. ‘Everything You Might Possibly Need Tonight’ Station; includes Fleece blankets, Advil, Off Bug Repellant, Tissues, Gum, Hand Sanitizer + Hand Wipes
3. ’Spice of Life’ DIY Ceasar Station
4. Delicious Mini Appetizers
5. Twinkle Lights lined the outdoor tent
If you live in the Vancouver area then you may already be well aware that the weather forecast through the weekend is not looking so good. It’s been rather hot + muggy lately which has only encouraged Mother Nature to rain down on us. While some may not agree, + surely I do love a hot Summer’s day, with age I’ve learned to enjoy each season. I don’t even mind the rain – it’s an excuse to slow down, light my favorite candle + a chance to wear that cozy sweater + leggings that our recent hot weather wouldn’t permit. So, despite this weekend’s weather woe’s, relax + enjoy it!
If by some sort of twisted mishap you missed the (BIG) news … my favorite PARTYSKIRTS are now available on shopbop! I couldn’t be more proud + inspired by the two little ladies behind the brand. Local to Vancouver + obvious dreamers at heart, these girls are taking things to a new level. Talk about a success story – I want one in every color!
It’s as if a plague took over my otherwise consistently healthy + immune strong body + told me to hit snooze. After an entire week solid of feeling sick + run-down, i’m finding it difficult to continue my regular workout routine of 5x week boxing + kickboxing training. Because I have been feeling so weak, I made the un-wanted decision to take the week to let my body heal with rest.
What’s most frustrating is feeling like my week off of training has lost with it all the work I’d been putting in to help tone my muscles. So, in much need of motivation to get back into my routine, I decided to put together some workout inspiration to help get me motivated + excited about making the trek into the boxing studio after putting in a full-days work (+ commute). Maybe it just might spark something in you to keep moving too!
Summer is in full swing + in Vancouver we’ve been receiving gifts of Vitamin D on the regular. I love exploring new products that will get me that ‘healthy glow’ + experimenting with some more daring (if you will) trends that might not make the cut during the darker more dreary months. Bright nails, fresh dewy makeup + big wavy, beachy hair are just a few of my favorites for beach season. As for my current summer loves, I’ve got you covered on all your beauty essentials & trends for this season.
Are there any products that are not on my list that I should not miss?! Feel free to comment below – beauty reco’s welcomed!
